Q: What special permits are needed for Tibet?

Foreign travelers need a Tibet Travel Permit to enter Tibet. We will assist you with the application after your booking is confirmed. Please ensure your China visa is valid and provide a scanned copy of your passport. You must travel with a group throughout Tibet; independent travel is not permitted.

Q: How are meals arranged? I’m worried about not liking Chinese food.

Daily hotel breakfast is included. Lunches and dinners are at your own expense, and your guide will recommend local restaurants to suit your taste (from authentic street food to upscale dining). If you have special dietary needs (vegetarian, halal, allergies, etc.), please let us know in advance – we will do our best to accommodate.

Q: What is the physical demand of this tour? Is it suitable for seniors or children?

The tour has low to moderate physical demand. Mutianyu Great Wall includes cable car + toboggan; Xi’an City Wall offers bicycle or electric cart rental; Lhasa’s palaces have many stairs – we recommend a slow pace; Zhangjiajie (if added) uses Bailong Elevator and cable cars. Each day covers 2-3 sites with ample rest time. Suitable for children aged 8+ and healthy seniors under 70. Please consult your doctor if you have specific health concerns.

Q: Can I extend the tour or add other cities?

Absolutely. This is a private, customizable tour. You can add or remove days based on your interests and available time. Popular add‑ons include Guilin/Yangshuo, Zhangjiajie, Dunhuang, Yunnan (Lijiang/Shangri‑la), etc. Please let us know your preferences, and we will create a tailor‑made itinerary for you.

Tips

Smart casual dress and comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
Prices based on twin occupancy.
The tour guide may adjust the itinerary due to closure of the museums each Monday.
A good healthy physical condition is required to help manage the high altitude conditions.
All reasonable care must be taken to dress appropriately for the colder conditions in Tibet.
Travelers are encouraged to avoid excessive physical activity and the consumption of alcohol in Tibet to reduce the likelihood of altitude sickness.
Optional tours to Suzhou, Hangzhou or nearby Watertown, and other destinations are also available.
Any city not included in the existing tour package can be added to this tour and taken as an addition to this Private tour.
Entering and exiting China from Hong Kong and Taipei are also available.
Stays at entering and exiting cities (Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Taipei) can be extended.
